Professional Biography

Dr. Ali Aljabiri is a journalist, political science researcher and Editor-in-Chief of Euro Times, with a professional career spanning journalism, television broadcasting, academic research, university teaching, documentary production and authorship.

He holds a PhD in Political Science, with a doctoral dissertation entitled “The Political Function of Arab Satellite Television Channels,” examining the relationship between satellite broadcasting and political communication, as well as the role of television in politics and the formation of public opinion.

Dr. Aljabiri has extensive experience in Arab television and journalism. He served as a senior news presenter at Abu Dhabi Television, where he presented two major political programmes: Al-Madar, a daily political programme covering key Arab and international developments, and Bisarih Al-Ibara, a weekly political programme specialising in Iraqi affairs.

Earlier in his career, he worked as a political television presenter in Iraq and held several senior editorial positions in Iraqi journalism. From 2001 to 2003, he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Iraqi newspaper Al-Ittihad.

His television career also included the production and direction of documentary films, alongside the preparation and presentation of political programmes.

In academia, Dr. Aljabiri taught at the College of Mass Communication at Ajman University in the United Arab Emirates during the 2006–2007 academic year.

Throughout his career, he has collaborated with a number of Arab research and studies centres and published dozens of research papers, political studies, analyses and articles. He has also contributed articles to several Arab newspapers, focusing on political and security affairs, Middle Eastern developments, and regional and international transformations.

His published books include “Secrets of the Final Hours Before the Fall of Baghdad” (2003) and “News Production in Arab Satellite Television” (2004).

Dr. Ali Aljabiri is the Editor-in-Chief of Euro Times, which was launched in Sweden in 2016 as a print newspaper with an online news website. In the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, Euro Times transitioned to a digital-first news platform, focusing its publishing operations on digital journalism.

In 2026, Euro Times launched its Swedish and English editions, alongside its main Arabic edition, as part of an expansion aimed at reaching a broader audience. The platform primarily serves Arabic-speaking audiences while also providing news and content in Swedish and English for audiences across Europe.

Dr. Aljabiri’s current journalistic and research interests include European and Middle Eastern politics and security, Swedish affairs, Iraq, Iran, international relations, geopolitical transformations, and the analysis of regional conflicts and crises.
