Are US Forces Conducting Commando Operations Inside Iran? Chinese Intelligence Satellite Images Reveal What’s Happening

Euro Times / Stockholm

Reports published by specialized defense and warfare-focused accounts have indicated new US military movements at the strategic Diego Garcia base in the Indian Ocean, amid ongoing signs of American military buildup in the region and rising tensions with Iran.

According to satellite images released on February 1 by a Chinese intelligence company specializing in geospatial data analysis, known as MizarVision, the arrival of several US military aircraft at the base was documented, in what was described as a noticeable increase in aerial deployment.

The images — as circulated by accounts tracking military activity — show the arrival of three KC-135 aerial refueling aircraft, suggesting enhanced long-range refueling capabilities during extended operations.

A P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft was also spotted, designed to monitor naval movements and submarines, along with an HC-130J aircraft used in combat search-and-rescue missions.

Among the most notable aircraft mentioned was the MC-130J Commando II, often associated with special operations forces and tactical support for covert missions.

Observers have noted that the presence of search-and-rescue and special operations aircraft may be significant, particularly in light of previous media reports suggesting that “commando operation options inside Iran” had been presented to US President Donald Trump. However, these claims have not been officially confirmed.

Diego Garcia is considered one of the most important US military bases in the Indian Ocean and is frequently used as a strategic launch point for long-range operations in the Middle East and Asia.

This development comes amid a highly sensitive regional context, as military movements intensify and speculation grows over potential escalation or increased pressure in the coming period.
