Israel After Secret Washington Visit: US Reportedly Closer to Military Strike on Iran

Euro Times / stockholm
Israeli reports suggest that the United States is now “closer to launching a military attack on Iran” than it was just a week ago, following a secret visit by Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir to Washington and a subsequent high-level security meeting in Israel.
According to The Times of Israel, the security meeting took place on Sunday with the participation of key political and intelligence officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Israel Katz, and Mossad Director David Barnea.
The gathering focused on updated assessments of regional developments and potential military options regarding Iran.
Israeli officials reportedly believe that Washington’s position has shifted closer toward the possibility of a strike, although the scope and nature of any potential operation remain unclear.
Earlier, Defense Minister Katz met with Zamir and stated that they discussed “the regional situation and the Israeli military’s operational readiness for any possible scenario,” following Zamir’s meetings with senior US officials.
Israeli Army Radio reported that Zamir estimated the United States could strike Iran within a time frame of “two weeks to two months,” describing the current phase as one filled with uncertainty.
The reports also indicate that Zamir’s Washington visit involved discussions over intelligence briefings, military planning against Iran, and the possible implications of renewed diplomatic negotiations between Tehran and Washington.
