Suspicious Dangerous Object Found in Malmö – Residents Told to Stay Indoors

Euro Times / Stockholm

Police have cordoned off an area in the city of Malmö in southern Sweden after a suspicious potentially dangerous object was discovered outdoors on Saturday evening. Residents in the surrounding area have been instructed to remain inside their homes as a precaution.

Authorities said the restricted zone is located on Lantmannagatan, near Ystadsgatan, where emergency services quickly secured the scene.

The alarm was raised at approximately 9:30pm, prompting police to launch safety measures and investigate the nature of the object.

The incident comes after a separate alert earlier the same day, when a private individual attempted to hand in detonators at a police station in Malmö. Bomb disposal specialists were deployed, but the detonators were later assessed to be harmless.

Investigations are ongoing as police continue to examine the object found on Saturday night.
